Does Health on Kensington accept new patients?

Health on Kensington welcomes new patients.

New Patients can book online either through our website or via the HotDocs App or please call our friendly reception staff.

New Patients will be booked for a 30min appointment to allow for a medical history to be taken and a quick visit with the Practice Nurse.

On booking your initial visit you will receive an SMS with a link to complete our New Patient Registration Form and a Transfer of Medical Records Form (optional).

If, for any reason, you do not receive this link, these forms can be found below.

How do I know when my Annual Care Plan is due?

When you see a GP or Nurse, they will set relevant clinical reminders in your patient file to help with your ongoing care. We then send out these clinical reminders (recalls) to you by SMS. If you do not have a mobile, we will mail a reminder letter to you.

Once you receive this SMS from Health on Kensington, you can find out which health recall message you are due for by clicking on the link and entering your full name and date of birth. You can either book an appointment from this screen online, or call our receptionists to book your appointment.

How do I book in for a COVID19 Vaccination?

Health on Kensington is providing Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations.

Please call reception to make an appointment.

The criteria (eg. time between vaccinations/ COVID infection) often change, so it's best to ring Health on Kensington to check your eligibility.

What do I do if I have COVID19 symptoms?

If you are experiencing any COVID19 symptoms such as fever, dry cough, tiredness, aches and pains, sore throat or shortness of breath, please DO NOT ENTER our Health on Kensington centre.

Please call reception on (08) 8364 4511 to discuss your options. The doctor may be able to offer a telehealth consult to discuss your symptoms, treatment plan and the next steps.

Do I have to pay to see the doctor?

Health on Kensington is a private practice, so in general, all consults will incur a patient fee. Our patient fees are on display at our main reception desk.

As the consult is charged on complexity and time, we are not always able to give an accurate quote prior to a consult. Please refer to these fees as a guide. Be aware that there may be additional fees if a procedure or dressing occurs as part of the consult. New patient appointments require a 30 minute booking. Chronic Disease Management Plans and Mental Health Care Plans appointments are bulk billed. If you have any concerns, please speak to reception.

COVID19 Vaccinations are all provided at no cost to the patient.

Am I able to book an appointment after practice hours?

Yes, you can book an appointment online anytime.

If you prefer to speak to our reception team, we are available by phone from 7:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

I work 9 – 5pm every weekday. Can I make an appointment outside of these hours?

Patients may wish to request a Telehealth consultation. If you prefer a consultation by phone or video, please inform reception at the time of booking.

If you prefer a video consult, a link will be sent to you by SMS, which you will access at the time of your appointment. You will need to be using a device (eg mobile phone, laptop, tablet) with microphone and camera capabilities.
